Common Questions
What can I request through this form?
Custom CAD modeling, reverse engineering, 3D scanning, replacement parts, prototypes, and both one-off and production print runs. If it needs to be designed before it can be printed, this is the right form. You can also upload a ready-to-print 3D file here for a manual quote if you'd rather not use the Instant Quote tool.
I don't have a file — what do I send instead?
Photos, a sketch, a drawing, or the physical part with accurate measurements. That's enough for our team to build a CAD model from scratch.
What file formats do you accept if I do have one?
STL, STEP or 3MF work best. You can upload directly through the form or email it to Cody@RTP3D.com or Info@RTP3D.com.
Can you reverse-engineer a part I already own?
Yes — this is one of our most common requests. Send photos and measurements of the original part (or the part itself) and we'll recreate it as an editable, printable model.
Not sure which material to choose?
Tell us how the part will be used — indoors, outdoors, load-bearing, flexible, etc. — and we'll recommend a material from our PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, TPU, PA (Nylon), PC (Polycarbonate) and specialty filament options. Check out our material guide for a full breakdown.
When will I get pricing and a timeline?
After you submit the form, we review your project and reply with an accurate quote and estimated turnaround based on the design work and print time involved.
Already have a print-ready file?
If your file just needs pricing — no design work required — try the Instant Quote tool for a fast estimate. Otherwise email us directly at Info@rtp3d.com.
