Custom Self-Serve Screen Mounts for Pecan Craft Kitchen

The Problem

Pecan Craft Kitchen runs a self-serve Pour My Beer wall — a long row of taps with a screen mounted above each one showing what's pouring. The screens themselves worked fine, but the way they were mounted didn't: uneven gaps between units, no consistent spacing, and no real mounting solution beyond whatever would hold a screen to brick. The result looked unfinished on a wall that's front-and-center for every customer walking in.

They needed a real solution: something uniform, repeatable across all 15 screens, and clean enough to match the finished look of the rest of the space.

The Process

I started with a physical mockup before committing to a final design — cutting a template out of wood to test proportions and fit against an actual screen and the mounting depth needed on the wall.

Once the proportions were dialed in, I moved to a 3D printed frame — a mount that wraps the screen's edges and gives it a consistent, finished bezel, with mounting points sized to sit flush and even across every unit on the wall.

With the design confirmed, I printed all 15 units — enough for the full length of the wall.

Installation meant fitting each mount into its spot on the brick wall, working around existing wiring and getting consistent spacing across the full run of taps.

The Result

All 15 screens now sit in matching mounts with consistent spacing down the entire wall — no more gaps, no more mismatched mounting, just a clean, uniform look that matches the rest of the build.

This is the part of the job I love most — taking a problem that's easy to overlook until you're standing in front of it, and turning it into a real-world solution that just works.
